This fall, Starbucks unveiled a new autumn seasonal drink, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. Well known for its iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte, Starbucks has added many new drinks to its fall beverage lineup. These drinks include the Apple Crisp Macchiato, its iced version, and the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino. But, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew shines above them all.
This drink consists of the Starbucks Cold Brew with a heaping layer of pumpkin cream cold foam. The drink comes with 2 pumps of vanilla syrup and a light dusting of pumpkin spice atop, for customers who like their coffee loaded with that cinnamony, sugary autumn flavor.
The very first sip of this drink blasts you to a world of swirling leaves, corn mazes, pumpkin piles, and cozy scarves. You can practically feel the leaves crunching under your boots and a chilly breeze blowing across your face.
The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is by far the best fall drink that Starbucks offers, especially in comparison to some of the other new drinks that have been introduced. The Apple Crisp Macchiato against this drink.
The Apple Crisp Macchiato is an espresso with apple brown sugar syrup, steamed milk, and a caramel drizzle. While it may sound like this drink is brimming to the top with autumn flavor, it isn’t at all. In actuality, it tastes like your average coffee.
You can order this drink to be served hot or cold. To best compare it to the iced Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, I ordered the Apple Crisp Macchiato as a cold drink. Through the clear cup, you can see the top layer of coffee blending into a layer of cream. The top is drizzled with caramelized-spiced apple drizzle, almost resembling an apple pie. Despite its pretty outward appearance, this fall drink is just your average coffee.
Besides the Apple Crisp Macchiato, the rest of Starbucks’ seasonal fall menu does not fail to deliver. The Pumpkin Spice Latte and the Chai Tea Latte remain staples in the lineup with their delicious flavor profiles that perfectly complement the inclement crisp fall weather. The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, although a bit soggy, provided me with some substantial sustenance, after drinking way too many sugary caffeinated beverages. Even though the Pumpkin Scone was a tad sweet, it tasted surprisingly delicious, considering I had just consumed an excessive amount of pumpkin-themed drinks and foods.
All in all, Starbucks’s already illustrious fall menu was further solidified in history, and my stomach, with its new coffees and deserts.
