The Language Honor Society Induction Ceremony took place on Nov. 12 where 4 honor societies gathered to celebrate the new members being inducted.
“The induction ceremony celebrates the languages we teach in our school and recognizes the dedication and commitment students have to the language and culture they are acquiring,” Spanish teacher Maritza Sloan said.
While Sloan enjoyed watching the high number of support the ceremony received, Latin teacher Molly Kulinsky likewise loved the high number of students joining the Latin Honor Society this year.
“I hope that new students feel pride in being part of the Latin Honor Society,” Kulinsky said. “I also hope that they enjoy the opportunity to participate in activities that celebrate languages alongside students who share their interest in language learning.”
Similarly, French teacher Bridget Milford hopes to see increased involvement in exposure for the new inductees in French Honor Society.
“I hope that new students will be surrounded by others who are equally enthusiastic about French and that they will have more opportunities to explore francophone culture which is similar to a cheese tasting we recently did where our officers explained the importance of cheese in France,” Milford said.
Overall, they believe that the induction ceremony went well with all the support received and are thrilled about what can be brought by their new members.
“We were excited to have the support of our administration and have an amazing guest speaker,” Milford said. “Our officers did a wonderful job to help make sure the ceremony went as smoothly as possible.”
