“My parents took me hiking as a little guy, and eventually it stuck. I can’t remember the exact trail [I first hiked], but I remember going to Creve Coeur Lake a lot. I would recommend any hike in the St. Francois mountains south of St. Louis. [It has] lots of variable landscapes and [it’s] mostly untouched nature. [I like hiking because] it’s a way to meditate, exercise, and appreciate nature. You can learn more from a thoughtful hike than a day at school.”
