Gray Baker (11) adds finishing touches to her painting in AP Studio Art. Baker was inspired by frustrating conversations with people around her. “It’s frustrating when people talk to me about my future knowing it doesn’t include them in it,” Gray Baker said.
Methodic lines flow across a canvas in rivers of color, merging to create stunning images at the hands of Gray Baker (12). Brush stroke by brush stroke she breathes life into the once blank canvas, now a stunning product of her mind. Each line or placement of color serves a purpose to emulate Baker’s frustrations. AP Studio Art, a class based around artistic freedom, has given her an opportunity to curate her painting entitled “Stop Talking Domestic With Me.”
“It’s a reflection on conversations I’ve had over the years about looking to the future and how it can be frustrating sometimes when people talk about the future, but have no intention of actually being in your life long term,” Baker said.
