Let’s face it; high school students are not going to be efficient for an entire day. With school, extracurricular activities, and homework, very few people can maintain concentration for long periods of time. Sometimes breaks are necessary and many people choose to relax by playing games on their cell phones. The current popular app is a mindless game called Flappy Bird.
Flappy Bird is an astonishingly easy game, less difficult than other popular apps like Angry Birds and Quiz Up. All a user has to do is repeatedly tap their phone’s screen to guide a small bird through a series of pipes. Despite its simplicity, however, angry players around the world have written about their frustration on social networking sites. One person even claimed that he dreamed about the flappy bird and pictured himself eating it during his meals; clearly, this app is more stress-inducing than it seems.
- Firstly, you can never beat the game; there is no light at the end of the tunnel. What if you do finally get to ten? To thirty? To sixty? Even one hundred? Does it really matter? Bragging rights aren’t that important. Angry Birds can be frustrating, but at least you can actually beat the game.
- Secondly, phones apparently don’t do a great job with the game, often experiencing glitches at unfortunate times. In a game often decided by a few milliseconds, the flappy bird can easily crash into a pipe when the phone briefly freezes.
- Lastly, the game is simple and very repetitive; once you figure out how to get through ten pipes, getting through one hundred pipes is no different. Yet this simplicity is part of what is frustrating people; they think they should do better. Losing this game often causes players to scream loudly in frustration or even throw their phones against a nearby wall.
If you want to keep your phone and your peace of mind, there are better games to get.
I’m just saying.
