Whitfield placed third in the Class 3 state championship afterward. “I believe that we outplayed the other team, but the calls did not fall in our favor. I was in a state of shock for the rest of the night as I am a senior and this was my last game of high school soccer,” goalkeeper Jared Settler said. “Our record wasn’t that pretty, but we played hard against a really difficult schedule. Going into the playoffs, we were confident about our ability to compete. I couldn’t ask for a better team and coaching staff to spend four years of my life being a part of.” (Photos by Vincent Hsiao)
