10 reasons why I hate the Patriots

February 3 will mark the sixteenth anniversary of when the Patriots “beat” the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI, to give their franchise and Tom Brady the first of their five Super Bowl wins. However they did not deserve that win.

Although they say there isn’t enough evidence to prove Spygate, I know the Patriots are guilty of recording the Rams’ signs and game plan to win the Super Bowl. Why else would the number 17 rated defense in the league hold the Greatest Show on Turf to only three points in the first half, which hadn’t been done since before Kurt Warner took over? The Patriots knew every play the Rams called, before the snap.

It is because of the unexpected loss in the Super Bowl that the Rams declined in the 2002-03 season. Kurt Warner lost his confidence, Marshall Faulk was anything but his former self and the former number one rated defense in the league was nowhere to be found. The 2002-03 Rams lost their first five games, and finished with a 7-9 record, missing the playoffs completely.

The decline didn’t stop there. The Greatest Show on Turf was no more. The Rams were terrible for the next 13 years, causing them to move back to Los Angeles. If the Patriots didn’t cheat, The Rams would still be in St. Louis. That’s where my hatred for the Patriots stemmed, but it doesn’t stop there. Here are nine more reasons why I hate the Patriots:

DISCLAIMER: Tom Brady is the GOAT. This list does not doubt his greatness.

2. They’re only good because of Tom Brady and a decent coach. Without Tom Brady, they would be terrible. Example: 2008, the year Brady was injured, they didn’t even make the playoffs.

3. Deflategate.

4.League favoritism. When you watch a Patriots game, you can clearly see all the missed calls against the Patriots and all the no-calls that get called for the Patriots.

5. The Tuck rule. Not only did the Patriots cheat in the 2002 Super Bowl, but they shouldn’t have even been there. Tom Brady fumbled that ball.

6.The “fans”. They are probably the most obnoxious, entitled, fair-weathered fans in all of football. Don’t believe me? Wait until Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are gone, they Patriots suck and all their “fans” are gone.

7. Bill Belichick. He’s one of the most arrogant coaches in the league, and completely ignores that all of his success is because of Tom Brady. Let’s not forget his 36-44 record when he coached the Browns, only making the playoffs once.

8. The media. “Tom Brady this, Tom Brady that. Tom Brady has this one in the bag.” It’s enough already.

9. “The Patriot Way”. What an annoying slogan. I don’t think there should be a slogan for cheating.

10. The sheer dominance. I love rooting for the underdog, however, the Patriots make this impossible.
