As the school year opens, Charlie Yeldham and Will Carr, along with their sponsor Thomas Lowery, have created a new club. This club, the Ladudes, is an a cappella group for boys.
“I have always wanted to start a male a cappella group, but I finally took the initiative when a female a cappella group came around,” Yeldham said. “If there is an all-female group, surely there must be an all-male group, right?”
Just as the Viva Voce have created a place for girls to show off their musical talent, the Ladudes want to give male singers a place to showcase their abilities.
“I would like to see more guys singing at Ladue,” Lowery said. “There are a lot of quality male singers who are not in choir and I hope this gives them an opportunity to sing outside of the school day.”
Along with Yeldham’s excitement for the new club, he comes fully prepared to take the lead of the Ladudes. His musical background lends him to be the perfect fit for this group.
“I have been involved in choir since fourth grade,” Yeldham said. “Also, for the past three years I have attended this awesome a cappella camp called Acappellooza where you learn and perform songs with a theme.”
Overall, the Ladudes are a great addition to the wide spectrum of clubs at Ladue.
“My main goal for the Ladudes is to form a fun group of guys who all like singing,” Yeldham said.
