Junior Nathan King is the Digital Media Editor in Chief of Ladue Media and has been on staff for two years. When he’s not agonizing over an unending maelstrom of assignments, he’s probably busy reading classic novels. In his nonexistent free time, he also enjoys exploring the outdoors or sleeping. His favorite pen is a Pilot E95s with Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue ink.

The Missouri state Capitol in Jefferson City. Within these walls, the push to give police control to the state took place. "From the very beginning, this bill has been a sham, and the Governor’s signature represents nothing but disrespect for every Missouri voter who supported local control,” St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones said.

Duckham spends large amounts of her free time reading. Dealing with fewer classes this year, Duckham’s bookshelf at home has seen more use. “I call every book my favorite, but not truly every book [is]. I wrote my dissertation on Herman Melville, so I guess I'd have to say Moby Dick, is definitely one of my all time favorites,” Duckham said. “I really do love both British and American novelists of the 19th century. I tend to prefer nonfiction over fiction. For some reason, I think there's so many great non fiction writers, and I love the whole idea of something being true.

Many Chinese immigrants began to move to St. Louis in 1857, and by 1869, they had established a Chinatown colloquially referred to as "Hop Alley." Increasing xenophobia on the West Coast, combined with opportunities for industrial work in the Midwest, led to a greater influx of migrants, making Hop Alley a haven for Chinese Americans. However, after over a century of flourishing, the city seized the land through eminent domain, building Busch Stadium directly over the history and culture of Chinese populations within St. Louis in 1966.
