February 24 was National Tortilla Chip Day so I decided to try attempting a quick and easy nacho dip recipe. The toppings were really customizable. Some of my favorites are tomatoes, cheese and guacamole. Although the Super Bowl is already over, this recipe could definitely work for a last-minute party next February!
Ingredients:
- Cream cheese
- Sour cream
- Taco seasoning
- Shredded lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Cheddar cheese
- Green onions
- Canned onions
- Guacamole
- Tortilla chips
Steps:
- Microwave the cream cheese for around 40 seconds or until soft.
- Put softened cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning into a mixer and mix until light and smooth.
- Spread onto the bottom of a container or plate.
- Add your own toppings of choice.
- Chill for one to two days for best flavor.
This no-bake recipe was super easy and the cream base’s texture paired perfectly with the freshness of the toppings I chose and the saltiness of the tortilla chips. In my opinion, the best brand of tortilla chips is obviously Tostitos. I prefer the smaller ones in the shape of a circle over the triangle ones as they’re not as messy and provide the perfect bite. The best thing about this recipe other than the quickness is the customization aspect. Next time, I’ll try a spicy salsa, some cilantro, and maybe even add some cooked taco meat.
