Junior Phoenix Jegel is embraced by vibrant lights, illuminated in bold colors. Jegel's unconventional physical presentation has been a direct reflection of their hard-won autonomy. "My life hasn't been the most straightforward," Jegel said. "But realizing [that] I don't have to live by other people's standards has made me recognize who I actually am, even when it's uncomfortable for me and those I surround myself with."
