After a blowout win against Parkway West last week, Ladue’s football team kept rolling by defeating conference rival McCluer-South Berkeley by a score of 28-20 Sep. 12.
The first quarter ended in a scoreless tie and the game stayed tied until Berkeley’s LaMarko Ball ran the ball in for a five yard touchdown, making the score 6-0 Berkeley (following a failed two point conversion). However, three and a half minutes later, senior wide receiver Ryan Glazer got the Rams back in the game with a huge 73 yard touchdown reception from senior quarterback Matthew Hooper. Just before halftime, the Rams scored again on a 19 yard pass to senior Cody Kniptash to take a 14-6 lead going into the half.
Berkeley netted fourteen points in the third quarter on touchdown passes to Ryan Stokes and Eugene Irby, giving them a 20-14 lead going into the final quarter. However, another touchdown from Glazer and a key touchdown interception by junior Ivan Hurse sealed the game for the Rams.
