“Right now I am running 26.2 miles in 26 hours. My friend Emerson Barnett challenged me. We are going to raise money for St. Louis Crisis Nursery. We decided on this charity because they are in need right now and she has volunteered there in the past. I was able to involve others by reaching out to a bunch of my friends. Once I started reaching out, others joined me so the group kept growing. My family thought this was really crazy at first but they have encouraged me the whole way, and they are going to donate at the end. Even before I knew it started I knew it was going to be very difficult so I prepared myself mentally. In terms of physical training, I didn’t really prepare much. [Through the process] it is important to eat and drink water. It was very helpful to start at night to get that out of the way. Also, try to sleep when you can. If you are going to do this you need a support system before you begin.”
