I think that it is scary how quickly things can change and how serious this issue really is. It is hard to understand the circumstances of things when they are not affecting you personally. To calm my nerves, I made sure and am continuing to make sure I am staying clean and well sanitized. A happy memory throughout this pandemic has been spending quality time with my sister who is home from college. I already do not see her a lot during the year, so this time that I am able to spend with her is special. We are super close because she was a senior on Laduettes when I was a freshman, so we really bonded through dance. Now that she is home it is exciting to bring back old memories and make new ones while at home during the pandemic. A time that I was sad or upset was when the school districts cancelled for the remainder of the school year. To many, it may be an exciting thing that we don’t have to go back to school. For me, it was upsetting because although school is about learning, the fact that I will no longer be able to see my friends each day was sad. Also school events like pep rallies and sports tryouts are all cancelled and have to be done virtually. I overcame this sadness by surrounding myself with family and focusing on the positives of the situation.
