The hardest moment of lockdown has just been the overall realization that I can’t go see my friends, or leave my house. The fact that the virus also just doesn’t have an end date is also hard because it’s hard to know when I’ll ever be able to go back to normalcy. But, I’ve been able to talk to people whose schedules don’t usually match up with mine. Before coronavirus, I talked to my camp friends only about once a week, but now I get talk to them almost every day. My family threw a parade for my dad’s 50th birthday. All my neighbors came out onto their yards with signs, and honked their horns as we drove up and down the street. It really showed that even during a time of solitude and physical distancing, we could still come together and create great memories, even from 6 feet apart.
