“I would say, it might seem stressful, but you gotta like go into it. You can’t let the feeling of being a high schooler get to you. Look up to the upperclassmen because they know their stuff. If an upperclassmen is like nice to you, you should always take advice from them. I made friends with Anna Fiacco. She is very sweet and nice and doesn’t look down at you like some seniors do. She answers all your questions, whether it’s about school or anything else and she just is really sweet. In my opinion, eighth grade was a piece of cake, and then you entered a new school and decided to take all the advanced classes and it just hits you. Take Advanced Bio, there’s just so much material and the tests are crazy hard. Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration were just awful. Also for me, I suck at Lit and Comp but I opted to take ALC (Advanced Lit and Comp) which was very different for me honestly because I had never been pushed that hard in that subject. I had Mrs. Gutchewsky, and she was the best ALC teacher. She was so straightforward about things and any questions you asked her, she would know the answer and answer it perfectly for you. She really helped me through it. Even though there were some tears for the final, I had a good year.”
