Amidst all of the school work and extra curricular activities, it’s hard to find decent enough time to sit back, relax, and watch some television. That’s why when such a time occurs, it must be used watching the best show possible; right now, one of the most prominent and entertaining series is Gotham.

Gotham is still in its first season, and usually releases it’s episodes on monday. Personally, I found that it gave me a bit of leisure time to look forward to, on a day of the week that is commonly seen as drab.

At first, the plot line seemed very unoriginal. In every crime series, there is the usual detective trying to unravel an overarching conspiracy. However, it was interesting to see how the creators tied in the plot of Batman into the episodes.

The entire show is a prequel to the emergence of Batman in Gotham. The show even gives glimpses of the villains before they became villains. All in all the episodes made me look at the whole Batman storyline differently.

Aside from the overall plot, I also the show was made with high quality and clear intent. The actors were all believable, and the storyline was complex to prevent boredom, but simple enough to follow. Seemingly enough, it’s not only me who holds Gotham in such high regard.

Gotham has already won plaudits for it’s quality. According to TV News, Gotham received an award by the Television Critics Association for most promising show.

Perhaps television is one of those things that goes by the specific taste of the viewer, but if you like action, drama, and plot twists, Gotham is definitely a show that should be looked into.
