Doodles with Danielle: freshman year vs. senior year

Danielle Zhang

Even during more typical years, the journey from freshman to senior year is fraught with challenges and difficulties; and throughout this four year long voyage, we will inevitably grow and change — be it for better or worse. This cartoon seeks to paint the less positive aspects of our development in a more humorous light because it’s important to acknowledge that growing up is difficult — and growing up during a pandemic is even more so. We are going to make mistakes. We are going to make regressions. But we will not leave high school as the same people who entered it four years ago.

And that’s a good thing.

Danielle Zhang
Danielle Zhang, Art Editor
Danielle Zhang is a senior at Ladue, the Panorama Art Editor, and avid lover of plants, poetry, & thunderstorms. When she’s not missing every single deadline, Zhang can be found frequenting the local art museum, rewatching Studio Ghibli films, and watering her plants. (She’s ninety percent sure at least 3 might be dying, but it’s nothing a bit of sunshine and serenity can’t fix, right?)
