Fun Whole-Wheat Pancakes Recipe!

Fun+Whole-Wheat+Pancakes+Recipe%21
Annie Zhao

Constantly unable to stop yawning or having some sort of questionable back-pain, most high schoolers are tired, physically or mentally, or both. This sleepiness is because of one sole reason. It’s not because high schoolers aren’t sleeping enough… It’s because they are worried about what’s a healthier alternative to a classic pancake! For those with restless nights thinking about how to alter the original pancake recipe, I present you a solution. Since, aren’t you bored of that tan colored pancake? Or is it only me?

Thus, I found one: a whole-wheat pancake recipe for four people from Cuisineaz, which is a website for a community of gourmet chefs.

The process takes around 15 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to cook the pancake. While it is suggested to follow a recipe step-by-step to get the desired result, if you would like to substitute or alter an ingredient or step, it’s totally ok! In the end, it is your creation — just remember to enjoy it and have fun!

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN CARRYING OUT THE INSTRUCTIONS!

First up, the ingredients:

1 cup of milk

200 grams of wheat flour

2 large eggs

2 tbsp. butter, melted

2 tbsp. powdered sugar

1 pinch of baking powder

1 knob of butter

1 pinch of salt

Now, the steps:

1.To start, separate the egg whites from the yolks. In another bowl, beat the yolks with the powdered sugar using a whisk. Then, mix in the milk and melted butter. Next, gradually mix the sifted flour with the baking powder. Whisk vigorously!

2. In a second bowl, place the egg whites and the pinch of salt, then beat them until you see stiff peaks using an electric mixer. Gently fold them into the dough using a spatula.

3.In a pan, melt the knob of butter. When the pan is hot, pour a small ladle of dough. When holes form on the surface of the pancake, turn it over with a spatula and continue cooking for 1 to 2 minutes on the other side.

4. And.. you’re done! Enjoy your wheat-flour pancakes!

I hope you enjoyed making this easier and more nutritious option of pancakes. Please, by all means, modify this recipe to your likings. Don’t hesitate to switch anything up! This recipe fulfilled my dream of making a different version of pancakes; I won’t ever be occupied with late night thoughts about a healthier pancake. On that note, have a wonderful day!
